Centrale Thermique de Richemont
Centrale Thermique de Richemont was a mixed fuel power station in northeastern France. Constructed in five phases and with each tranche coming online between 1954 and 1960 the total output was in the region of 415MW. The main source of fuel was the gases from the local blast furnaces with any shortfall being made up by heavy fuel oil or coal. The closure began in the 1990's, and by New Years Day 2010 the end had been reached.
Unknowingly, we visited late in the afternoon on the day the chimneys had been blown down.
